Vacation Update - Jersey Shore

On Thursday, we hit a comedy of errors trying to leave Northern Virginia, but we finally got on the road.  We ate breakfast on the road and got to New Jersey by mid-afternoon.  We had time to unpack and get to the beach for an hour or two during which Little Miss did not venture anywhere near the water.  It got pretty chilly so we didn't stay that long.  Turns out the pool was cooler so we were back in the room by dinnertime and went to bed fairly early.
On Friday, we got up and head to the beach after breakfast.  Our first order of business was to get Little Miss in the water.  After a bit of whining, she loved it and jumped waves until her lips turned blue.  We stayed as long as we could before heading back to the room.  Again, the pool was cold so Little Miss didn't spend too long in it.  You know it's cold when the kids won't even go in!
Little Miss took a nap when we got back to the room and we woke her up an hour later to eat dinner so we could go to the boardwalk.  It was Firework Night so we were on a slight time table.  She rode the rides and loved every minute of it.  Then, she saw the fireworks.  On the way back, we convinced Husband to stop for ice cream.  Then, because it was around midnight, we all went to sleep, but the night was worth staying up late!
On Saturday, we didn't even try the pool.  Because it was our last day, we spent as much time at the beach as possible.  The weather had been great all week, maybe a little breezy with rough water, but it was sunny and warm.  On Sunday, we treated Little Miss to some more rides and then headed home after lunch.
